Samsung Galaxy Store redesigned to put more focus on Gaming
Samsung has redesigned its Galaxy Store to put more focus on gaming. It allows the gamers to discover, browse, download and play more games. It categorizes different games under different genres and also gives recommendations and better gaming perks, based on your preferences and previous downloads.
Now gamers can also download Fortnite from Galaxy Store. Recently, over a legal battle for revenue shares the battle royal game was pull off from Apple and Google app stores. Samsung claims that Galaxy store is the only mobile app store in United States where this games is available.
Earlier, the app had several tabs like Home, Explore, Games, and even Exclusives. Whereas now, the renovated version of the Galaxy store has a small and linear interface, with just two tabs on the home screen, namely, Games and Apps. Apart from that the app also offers exclusive previews, promos and rewards for games. Samsung also highlighted the presence of the Xbox Game Pass app, which exists on the Play Store, but purchasing games and DLC inside the app is exclusive to the Galaxy Store version.
Samsung explained in a press release that these rewards keep accumulating while you are playing and leveling up in the game. Furthermore, these points can also be used on the next game the user downloads.
The Apps section claims to have specific recommendations based on your Samsung Galaxy phone. This is different for every user and is based on download history. Besides, Samsung has also partnered with companies to offer app-exclusive features and offers. For instance, Adobe Acrobat Reader app on the Galaxy Store offers a 7-day free trial whereas Touch of Modern app offers 10 percent store credit back on all purchases.
The Weather Channel app on Galaxy Store offers exclusive themes, shortcuts, and a personalised calendar as well.
