Logitech G PRO direct drive racing wheel has been revealed
Logitech G PRO has been unveiled and it promises to carry tons of features. Logitech G is a gaming-focused division of the parent company. Yesterday three new accessories were announced for those who fancy playing racing games. The Logitech G PRO racing wheel features a high-end direct drive motor and support Trueforce feedback engine, enabling incredibly response and intensely simulated driving experience.
Not just the driving wheel, Logitech G PRO pedals have also been designed to compliment the wheel and feature a modular design. Further you can also make some customization with replacing individual pedals with semi-automatic racing. Besides that, with up to 100kg of force the brake features a load cell sensor. Consistency is the primary aim of these high-end pedals, with hall effect sensors on the gas and clutch designed to endure a lifetime of use.
“Logitech’s PRO Racing Wheel makes the sim racing experience incredibly realistic. I’m able to feel the conditions of the track and how the car changes during the race, which is game-changing. When using this wheel at home, I feel like I’m right there on track,” said Lando Norris, F1 Racer for McLaren.
The Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel features the all-new high-performance Direct Drive engine capable of 11-newton meters of force with low-latency response. The Logitech G exclusive, TRUEFORCE feedback technology simulates real time driving and allows players to experience in-game physics and audio at higher frequencies with improved precision and almost instantaneous feedback.
Apart from that the gadget carries an intuitive wheel design with the buttons, ports and dials have been very carefully and precisely places. The magnetic gear shift paddles provide a realistic and mechanical feel of driving a car. Above that, the dual-clutch paddles offer tactile analog responses for a variety of racing functions. For superior comfort the quick-release mounting system allows for customizability.
“Fans of our racing wheels and pedals can expect a serious upgrade in realism, performance and control, as well as design and durability,” said Richard Neville, head of simulation and controllers for Logitech Gaming. “We analyzed everything—from how many gear shifts, turns and impacts an 11-newton meter wheel takes, to which materials and components will last through even the most grueling racing conditions.”
The accompanying PRO Racing Pedals feature a realistic load cell brake with pressure detection and customizability with its modular design to fit all racing setups and styles. The set of simracing peripherals is compatible with PC, Sony Playstation 4|5, Microsoft Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
The Logitech G PRO racing wheel has an MSRP set at $999 and the pedals at $349. Both will initially be sold exclusively through the official website(opens in new tab) and are not intended to replace any existing sim racing peripherals in their lineup. At the launch, the Logitech G website was down and reported a 404 error, but the staff ensured the relevant internal teams had been notified and availability would begin before the end of September 2022.
A collaboration with Playseat was also announced, revealing a variation of the Trophy sim cockpit featuring Logitech G PRO branding. The seat is identical to the standard Trophy model and will launch at a $599 MSRP. Sim racing enthusiasts will recognize the name from their previous efforts, like the fantastic Playseat Forza.
