SPIDER-MAN: MILES MORALES DEMO GAMEPLAY UNVEILED
On September 17, 2020, Sony’s PS5 showcase event took place, where the gaming giant revealed the price of the next-gen console along with its upcoming titles.
A seven-minute long demo gameplay of one of the most awaited and anticipated games of the year; Spider-Man: Miles Morales, was unveiled during this event.
As per the demo, the game is set in Harlem, a year after the events of the first Spider-Man game, where players will get to play as Miles Morales, as he becomes the friendly neighborhood web-slinger.
The demo gameplay starts with Miles and his best friend, Ganke Lee walking through the streets Harlem to an election campaign for Miles’ mother, Rio Morales.
In the next scene, a war breaks down between Roxxon, a deceitful energy corporation, and the Underground, a high-tech criminal army, when the Underground tries to steel NuForm Energy cannisters from a Ruxxon convoy on Braithwaite bridge.
Miles in an attempt to save New York city, fights against a new villain, the leader of Underground called, Tinkerer. This results in the devastation of the bridge. The web-slinger then saves the people at the bridge, and stops it from falling, by doing what he is known for; SWINGING.
Going by the demo, it is pretty evident, that there have been some major upgrades with the Spidey suit, where now, Spider-Man can probably throw electricity from his suit and may combine it with his web-shooters. Even the combat and swinging mechanics seem to have improved.
The demo was able to show off the outstanding gameplay graphics including gorgeous ray tracing, fit for the PS5. Insomniac’s community director, James Stevenson, notes that they went for a neon-noir aesthetic for the game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is sequel spin-off of 2018’s super-hit AAA game Spider-Man, that was released on PS4.
Spider-Man Miles Morales will be released both physically and digitally on Nov. 12, the same day as the PS5’s. The game will also be available for PS4 users, although they will not be able to experience upgrades and features only fit for the PS5.
