The Last of Us TV Series VS Videogame

The Last of Us TV Series scenes that we have seen in a short teaser released recently, compared with the video game are actually pretty accurate.

Right of the start of the teaser you can draw easy parallels between the The Last of Us TV Series by HBO and The Last of Us videogame by Naughty Dog Studios.

We didn’t have to wait, we already have the first comparison between The Last of Us series and the original game. After the first trailer of the HBO adaptation, fans have not wasted any time in making comparisons between the TV series and video game by putting together some of the most iconic scenes from the title. There are so many scenes which are reminicent of the video games, like the prologue scene where Joel carries his daughter Sarah, trying to escape the infected or that scene where Joel tells Ellie, how to use a gun. The similarities are surprising and make us look forward to how much have they adapted and how much have the creators created new.

Series that, by the way, is still far from release, as the teaser itself points to 2023. We must be patient to see Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the role of Joel and Ellie. Because as long as it breathes half the quality of Naughty Dog’s work, we could be facing one of the great series of the year.

The Last Of Us Creator Responds To a Fan

After the first teaser reveal from the coming TV series, The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann takes to social media to create even more buzz around the The Last of Us TV Series. For those who don’t know, the upcoming HBO adaptation is based on the 2013 video game of the same name and developed for television by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Druckmann, the latter of which was the creative director for The Last of Us video game. The post-apocalyptic story follows a smuggler named Joel who is tasked with escorting the teenaged Ellie across a post-apocalyptic United States. Someone who has not played the video game will hopefully have an emotional and terrifying experience watching the show.

Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey lead the Last of Us cast as Joel and Ellie alongside Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Gabriel Luna as a former soldier and Joel’s younger brother, Tommy. The fiming of the HBO adaptation began in July 2021 across various locations in Canada and since then there have a lot of rumors and speculations about the show.

Shorty after the first footage was revealed and began garnering excited reactions from fans, Druckmann took to Twitter to tease those wanting to see more. While he didn’t say anything about the footage itself, The Last of Us creator simply assured everyone, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.” Check out his full post below:

Soon after Druckmann’s tweet, his co-writer and executive producer, Craig Mazin, also took to Twitter to push the excitement even further, writing “I can’t wait to show you all what we’ve brought to life.” Through their tweets the creators have made it crystal clear that this teaser is just the tip of the ice berg and The Last of Us TV Series will have a lot more to offer.

The Last of Us Other Projects

For those who have not played the video game and wondering, what is this comparison all about, you have a golden chance now. On September 2, a remake of the first game will be released, which seems to be the best possible way to refresh the story and have something to compare it with once HBO’s fiction is released.

The game even has a sequel called The Last of Us Part II, which you would love to play once you are done playing the first part. Surprisingly, The Last of Us Part II will also get a multiplayer soon.
